2nd Grade Time Capsule Program
The 2nd grade time capsule program was initiated in 2016.
It was created to respond to a need of the Troy School Distict Alumni
Association for a way to bolster participation in alumni reunions. In addition,
The Troy Foundation expressed interest in creating ways the students of Troy
grow up in a culture of shared experience. To that purpose, every student from
3rd grade through 12th has a 2nd grade capsule stored in the time capsule vault
at the Troy Historical Society. Created in 2nd grade, ten years later they graduate.
These time capsules are to be opened at the fiftieth class reunion for each class.
The first time capsule to be opened will by in 2076 by the graduating class of 2026.
This program is faithfully administered the 2nd grade tearchers with the entire class
of 2nd graders attending a ceremonial deposit into the darkness of the vault
for 60 years.
